“My son didn't like reading. He felt like he was behind his peers and was self-conscious. I sought help from Laura Haefner to help my son become a better, more confident reader. Going to Laura was one of the best decisions I ever made! She is calm, confident and capable. She was able to not only teach my son how to be a better reader, but also helped him have a love for reading."

FAQ

  • In short, yes! As a mildly impacted dyslexic myself, I understand the feelings your child experiences as a struggling reader/writer and can help them navigate these during our time together. In addition, through my OG Masters and CALT training I have also proven that when foundational skills are taught in an explicit, systematic and structured way using multisensory pathways, every child can become a reader, no matter their level of need. I am confident that through assessment, I will be able to determine the level of need your child has and through intervention, tailored specifically to your child’s need, they will succeed. Whether your child is dyslexic or not, I am confident that I can help.

In order to ensure that your child is Our brains are naturally designed for oral language but for written language reading and writing to occur, the majority of learners must receive explicit instruction to master the code. If your struggling reader does not receive this explicit instruction related to decoding and language development, they will unfortunately continue to struggle and when they shift from learning to read (k-2) to reading to learn (3- adult), they will be less able or unable to access the content and asa result, their learning in other subject areas will suffer as well creating a larger deficit and greater anxiety.
