At Your Service

As an ALTA Certified CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapsit) I am well versed in literacy development and can meet your child at their point of need. Through a few basic assessments, I am able to discern areas of strength as well as potential for growth and from there can tailor a plan designed specifically for your child. Whether they require foundational phonemic awarness and phonics, lack fluency or comprehension strategies, or are seeking advanced morphology connected to Greek and Latin roots for greater vocabulary and language development, I can do it all.

How It All Began

This grass roots venture is grounded in the belief that every child can learn to read if given the right tools and support.

When I was a brand-new educator, fresh out of my teacher ed program, I felt confident walking into my first teaching job in a second-grade classroom until I realized that 90% of my students couldn’t read and I had no idea how to help them get there. As a child myself, I had not been taught the rules for decoding and encoding and as an adult still relied heavily on spell check when writing. Fortunately, in my first full year of teaching, I had the opportunity to attend an OG training though which I discovered how much there was to learn about literacy development and instruction and how little I actually knew at that point. In that moment of realization, I determined to learn everything I could about literacy, learning, and human development and to this day I continue.
